iGadget is an application for Windows and Mac; it backs up, synchronizes, updates songs and RSS feeds and allows creating lists for iPods, iPhones, and iPads. Basically it’s an application that enables users to perform simple common tasks which these devices don’t allow doing without one or several extra applications. The interface consists of a single window where all the utilities are found. The program only works with iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad, which are Apple devices with advanced processing capabilities.
With iGadget, users can transfer songs from an iPod, iPhone or iPad to the computer or to iTunes, preserving play counts, ratings, last played dates, volume adjustment, playback position and many other settings; also users can transfer playlists.
A new and probably a very important feature is the Gas feature, which updates and retrieves (via the Internet) the lowest prices for gas (USA data only). Users can also create driving directions between two locations in the United States and Canada, make notes, and store weather forecasts. Another feature, and probably the most important one that iGadget offers, is the Outlook data synchronization such as email, appointments, contacts, tasks and notes.
Other features include RSS news, daily horoscope and cinema show times for local USA theaters. On the downside, several of the features are only useful in the United States.
